Rinse the rice: Rinse gently and quickly. Drain the water within one minute, and repeat 2–3 times.
Add water: Use the correct ratio. For 1 cup of mixed grains, add 1–1.2 cups of water
(Tip: 1 cup for a rice cooker; 1.1–1.2 cups for a Tatung cooker).
Use good water: Avoid tap water if possible. Use filtered or purified water for better taste.
Soak: Soak the grains before cooking to allow them to absorb water
(1 hour in summer, 2 hours in winter).
Enhance appearance: Add a small amount of olive oil or vegetable oil to make the rice glossy and well-separated.
Cook: Let the rice cooker do the work.
Rest: After cooking, let it sit for 20–30 minutes before opening the lid.
Fluff: Gently fluff the rice to release excess moisture.
Done: Enjoy your fragrant, chewy, and nutritious mixed grain rice!
Storage (short-term): If kept in the rice cooker, consume within 12 hours.
Storage (long-term): Divide into portions and freeze. When ready to eat, thaw and microwave for about 3 minutes to restore near-fresh texture.
